Kristin

Kristin DeRosia Banick is one half of BigFaceLove Yoga. She completed her 200-hour teacher training with Kim Valeri through YogaSpirit studios. She currently studies ayurveda and tantra with Kathryn Templeton and Sue Neufeld, and is pursuing 500-hour training in Rod Stryker’s ParaYoga lineage her two teachers. Kristin has advanced training in Teaching Meditation from the Himalayan Institute in Honesdale, PA, where she escapes for meditation retreatswhenever life allows. Kristin and husband Bill have a great time teaching partner yoga workshops together, emphasizing joy, connection, and creating intimacy. Kristin’s classes are a combination of gentle asana and restorative postures, and include pranayama, meditation, and deep relaxation. Kristin finds inspiration in helping her students bring balance and clarity to their lives, offering a peaceful and restorative style of yoga. When not practicing yoga, Kristin is an Environmental Analyst for the Ct Department of Agriculture who specializes in the health of Long Island Sound and shellfish management. Her passion is designing naturalistic gardens using native plantsand growing vegetables. She loves cooking big, beautiful meals for friends and family. Bill says that Love is her secret ingredient. She and Bill share their home with a cat named Rosie and a rescue dog named Sam, who allows them to practice patience and detachment on a daily basis, and who makes them laugh every day.
